Bustier
Bustier is originally a strapless but now an important part of many outfits as inner wear or even the upper garment itself.

Bandeau
It’s a wrap around of fabric around the bust.

Darts
Darts shape the flat fabric and give it a two or three dimensional, form that fits the body They shape the bust and shoulder on a dress or blouse, define the waist and shape the hip line of skirts or pants and form bend at the elbow on a narrow sleeve.

There are 3 types of darts: STRAIGHT, CURVED & DOUBLE POINTED DART

Epaulets
Its ornamental shoulder pieces attached over jackets or coats either in the same color of fabric of the garment or contrasting color. Epaulets are generally used on uniforms.

Empire line
It start from the deepest point of the arm, hole and end just where the bust ends, mostly used in evening gowns and summer dresses, but nowadays it’s used in both Indian and western wear. The fitting under the bust has to be good.

Interlining
Interlining is an optional special purpose fabric layer in a tailored garment. It gives stiffness, life and beauty to the material. It is required for coats, jackets, silks and chiffons.

Lining and underlining
Lining and underlining are additional layers of fabric that can be sewn to the inside of the garment for a variety of purposes. They both reduce wrinkling, prevent stretching and prolong the life of the garment by adding support. Whereas underlining is purely functional, lining can be decorative.
